Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Float/Med Surg/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 24 months of current experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Telemetry. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required at the time of submission. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association or ARC. NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred. De-Escalation Certificate preferred (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI). Must-Have: Experience, comfort, and proficiency with drips including heparin, insulin, lasix. Experience, comfort, and proficiency with drips including amiodarone, diltizem, digoxin. Ability to read EKG/ECG comfortably and confidently, including all Tele-related duties and responsibilities. Experience with EPIC EMR system required. Description: This position requires the nurse to float across various units based on patient needs. The primary care will focus on Med Surg while assisting in other units when required. The nurse is expected to complete a Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding. Working over 1-2 of the major summer holidays is required unless the unit is closed. The nurse must be able to work every other weekend. The nurse will have a ratio of 1:6. The unit has a bed size of 130 and involves telemetry readings and drips as part of the job responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable working in a diverse environment and possess strong communication skills. First-time travelers with at least two years of nursing experience are welcomed.
