Minimum requirements include a current VA Waterworks Operator Class I license with a clean record, strong math skills and the ability to use logic to solve problems. Preference will be given to candidates with shift supervisory experience. Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

The Water Treatment Facility is a round-the-clock operation and requires 24/7 staffing with 12 hour shifts.  Operators are required to work rotating shifts over weekends and holidays; a sample schedule will be provided to candidates. Candidates must have the ability to work frequently scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Although most of the work is performed indoors, trips outside in all weather conditions will be required.
