We are recruiting for a hydraulic engineer to join our innovative Region 1 Geo/Hydro/Hazmat Unit! In this role, you will work closely with roadway designers, environmental staff and our team to develop designs for the conveyance and treatment of storm water runoff and erosion control. Analyze and design stormwater facilities, bridge hydraulics, stream bank stabilization and culverts. -
Design plans, specifications and cost estimates for stormwater management facilities for transportation projects. -
Solve unusual or difficult engineering problems and assemble technical input from various staff and stakeholders. -
Perform hydraulic studies for bridge and culvert replacement projects. -
Complete stormwater studies, designs and reviews for highway projects. -
Perform culvert hydraulic studies for replacement, rehabilitation and modification projects. -
Perform complex stream bank stabilization designs using conventional and bio-stabilization methods. -
Meet permit requirements for all water-related issues. -
Manage multiple projects and ensure their successful delivery. -
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. -
May work in the field; field hazards include working on rough terrain in adverse weather, high volume traffic, exposure to heavy equipment, construction traffic and unstable and steep slopes. -
Frequent regional travel required and, at times, occasional statewide travel. -
Occasional overtime, night or weekend work or overnight travel required. -
