The Public Works Department is recruiting Sewer Utility Engineering /Asset Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, experience managing project delivery, and strong communications, organizational and leadership skills
The incumbent performs a variety of advanced professional and technical functions for Kitsap County Public Works Sewer Utility Division. The Sewer Utility Engineer position manages the Utility's engineering group whose main purposes are to review and inspect developer sewer projects for compliance with Federal, State, and County regulations and Sewer Standards, develop, maintain, and implement an asset management program for piping systems, provide GIS services for the Public Works Department, maintain County sewer standards, issue sewer permits, collect wet and dry weather flow data.S sewer database, and address general sewer system inquiries or complaints from the public. The incumbent performs a variety of advanced professional engineering assignments in design, construction or land development, requiring advanced expertise in a specialized area of engineering or in multiple engineering-related functions. The incumbent acts as a resource to engineers and technicians on complex projects and manages or oversees projects, project components and contracts. The incumbent coordinates with other County departments, utility providers, project stakeholders and the public as needed. Responsible for assuring compliance with County codes and federal requirements. Prepares and presents public presentations. Reviews and makes recommendations and/or comments on engineering studies and reports in support of Public Works objectives.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical or environmental) and six years of engineering experience to include two years of supervisory/management experience; OR
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) and two years of supervisory/management experience
