Perform a wide variety of professional engineering duties in support of assigned water and/or wastewater facilities, infrastructure, construction and environmental engineering. Ensure technical competence and compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations and ordinances. Multiple positions available.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, plus five (5) years of Professional Engineering experience to include two (2) years supervisory experience in a management and/or administrative capacity. Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of New Mexico. May substitute PE License from another state recognized by the State of New Mexico, with the ability to obtain New Mexico License within one year from date of hire.

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority is the largest water and sewer utility in New Mexico, serving some 600,000 people in the metro area.

New employees joining the Water Authority elect to participate in one of two retirement plans. New employees who do not wish to join PERA are eligible to participate in a 401 Defined Contributio...n Plan, similar to 401(k) plans available in the private sector. Employee contributions are pre-tax, and plan participants are not taxed on employer contributions or upon earnings until funds are withdrawn.
Group term life insurance coverage equal to a percentage of your annual salary is provided at no cost to every employee. Employees may elect to purchase additional life insurance at a reasonable cost. Long-term and short-term disability insurance is also available for purchase at competitive rates.
