The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) - Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track, twelve-month teaching faculty position in biomedical engineering in the city of Tallahassee, Florida. This is a permanent position, which has university benefits and opportunities for promotion. Major responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in biomedical engineering, which may include molecular and cellular engineering, biomechanics, bioinstrumentation, and the corresponding labs. Candidates are also expected to assist in developing and teaching senior biomedical engineering design courses. The candidate will prepare documentation for assessment of these courses as part of the program accreditation process and also mentor and advise students. The department is currently developing an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and is seeking dedicated teaching faculty who can contribute to the development of this degree program through outstanding teaching and service. Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, or a very closely related discipline, and demonstrate the capability for high quality instruction in biomedical engineering. Candidates are expected to have strong commitments to high-quality teaching, primarily though not exclusively, at the undergraduate level, service to the department and campus, and outreach activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students are essential.
