The City of Gibson (pop. 3407) is seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Operator. Water Plant operation and maintenance includes an aerator, gravity iron filters, fluoride addition, gas chlorination, lab work and records keeping. Distribution System maintenance includes water mains, 300K and 100K water tower, Julie locates; installation, maintenance and reading of water meters and required water samples. Water certification is a plus. Class B certification is required by IEPA to operate the facility.
Wastewater Operations requires a Class II Operator to operate an activated sludge plant with aerobic digestion; 4 small lift stations and biosolids disposal on City owned farm ground.
Must have or be able to attain CDL License within 6 months of employment and must be willing to relocate to within 20 miles of Gibson City limits within 1 year of employment. City offers an excellent benefit package. Wages dependent on qualifications; starting at $19.00/hr. up to mid $30.00/hr.

Minimum Class IV Wastewater and Class D Water Operator license; may train and attain required Class II Wastewater and Class B Water Operator license while working on the job. Superintendent of Water and Wastewater position will not be given until the proper license is obtained.
Additional Salary Information: 10 paid holidays, overtime one and one-half (1 1/2) times, Vacation: after one (1) full year of service one (1) week, after 2nd year two (2) weeks, after fifth(5th) year three (3) weeks and after fifteen (15) years one (1) month. City pays 3/4 cost of Health Insurance.
