As the Supervisory Public Utilities Specialist for Southwestern Power Administration you will supervise a staff of five serving as the Southwestern Power Administration (SWPA) expert in electric power marketing and transmission policy.
Supervise the Division of Power Marketing and Transmission Policy (approximately 5 employees, mostly Public Utilities Specialists).
Manage, plan, direct, and coordinate SWPA’s power marketing and transmission strategic efforts.
Provide for, or personally carry out, coordinative liaison and work relationships between customers, potential customers, Southwestern, or other entities, which are necessary to the effective accomplishment of assigned responsibilities.
Analyze complex problems and issues related to the operation, maintenance and marketing of a major power system in order to recommend a course of action with SWPA-wide and regional ramifications.
Provide a full range of continuing customer services under operating power marketing contracts.
Ability to lead, Supervise, review work, or manage projects.
Ability to manage a Power Marketing Program and Power Transmission Program
Expert knowledge of Power Marketing and regional power markets
Expert knowledge of Power Transmission, Transmission Tariffs, and Regional Transmission Organizations, such as SPP, MISO, and/or ERCOT
Ability to create and maintain positive customer relationships
Expert knowledge in major power system operations and maintenance
Ability to create and modify complex power marketing contracts
