As a Traffic Engineering Project Manager, you’ll work directly with our clients, while managing a team of design engineers, planners, and technicians. During the beginning phases of a project, you’ll listen intently to our clients and identify the proper approach to design fit-for-purpose solutions. Through our flexible management approach, you’ll be empowered to lead and grow traffic engineering services at Snyder as well as your own professional development.
Pursue and contribute to a variety of transportation projects, varying widely in complexity and scope. This is a hands-on role leading the planning, design, and delivery of projects from start to finish.
Team leadership for the delivery of planning and design projects.
Client liaison with a focus on project and relationship management
Supervise the work of medium- to large-sized staff of professionals, designers and planners, as needed.
Meet client expectations and keep projects within budget by managing your team’s pace and productivity.
Maintain a high standard of quality, creativity, and collaboration within your project team.
Build positive working relationships with clients through proactive communication, commitment to service, and flexibility to address shifting priorities.
Effectively interact with people of all technical skill levels through verbal and written communication.
Minimum of eight years traffic engineering/design, operations and traffic analysis experience.
Relevant experience on the North American continent.
Professional Engineer license.
A sound understanding of project management practice.
Primary experience in design, construction and operations projects and a secondary focus on traffic studies and planning.
Experience in urban and rural highway interchanges, planning of multi-modal corridors, transportation planning, active transportation, and complex intersections.
Demonstrated success managing project teams and related staff from design through construction.
Proven experience coaching and mentoring design staff.
Effective management of project designs and deliveries, leading to professional growth and development.
Strong interpersonal skills leading to positive relationships with clients and communities.
Proven track record of completing assignments on time and within budget.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical subject matter to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated attention to high quality standards and prioritization of ongoing education in current traffic system technologies.
Hands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic and MicroStation for the design and construction of roadways, roundabouts to urban arterials.
Traffic design may include crash analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, pavement markings, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS).
Must be able to independently manage large and small transportation projects.
Would be responsible for developing business relationships through client interaction, project pursuits, and general marketing activities.
