We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Engineering Coordinator position to support compliance at the Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant as part of the Regulatory Programs Division. The Water Pollution Control Plant is amid a long-term capital program, called the CleanWater Program, to replace or rehabilitate the facility to meet future community and environmental needs. The Regulatory Programs Division is an interdisciplinary technical team whose services include laboratory support for water and wastewater operations, outreach and inspection services for wastewater and stormwater quality protection, oversight and reporting for wastewater and citywide stormwater compliance, and coordination of the City's sustainability initiatives. The Environmental Engineering Coordinator will work under the general direction of an Environmental Services Department Division Manager or Senior Environmental Engineer performing professional environmental management duties in the office and field for the Environmental Services Department. The position supporting the Regulatory Programs Division – WPCP Technical Support works with a diverse team of operations and maintenance staff, environmental consultants and contractors, and managers to ensure WPCP compliance with air and water quality regulations including the WPCP's National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit and Title V Air Permit requirements; reviews, analyzes, and interprets operational and monitoring data; and prepares technical memoranda and reports. The position also participates in technical support projects such as evaluating process and performance data and special studies of treatment technologies. Salary: $104,894.40 - $133,889.60 Annually
The minimum qualification can be met with A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, natural sciences, environmental studies, chemistry, biology, geology or a related field; and Three years of project management experience involving solid waste management or landfill engineering, water quality management, environmental regulatory compliance or a related environmental field.
