The University of Charleston School of Business & Leadership seeks candidates for Assistant/Associate professor of Business to begin August 2019 for our new Business Analytics undergraduate major and concentration in our MBA program. Our MBA program currently serves 50+ students and our undergraduate business programs serve over 300 students, including majors in accounting, sport business, and business administration with new majors beginning in business analytics, digital marketing, sports analytics, entrepreneurship, and other business areas. Our school is a member and candidate for specialized accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools & Programs.
The successful candidate will oversee the development and growth of business analytics programs and teach related in-seat and online courses.
WE are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual with demonstrated excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level, a record of applied research, ability to engage students in their professional and career preparation, and active engagement in service to the University, school, and community.
Candidates must have relevant academic and professional backgrounds
Ideal candidates will have experience in college-level teaching both in-seat and online, and/or organizational training, and hold a doctorate in economics, marketing, operations, statistics, or other relevant discipline with 18+ hours of analytics-related course work
Substantial industry experience in data analytics and management are preferred
Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as R, Python, and database query languages is strongly preferred
Preference will be given to candidates who also possess an MBA or MS in business or economics and have earned analytics-related professional certifications
Preference will also be given to candidates with experience in student advising, recruiting, curriculum development, strategic planning, specialized business accreditation, and academic administration
Candidates should have pertinent experience in utilizing appropriate technology in course development and delivery
Proven effectiveness in developing and teaching hybrid and online courses is also desirable.
