Groundwater, Watershed, and Ecosystems Restoration Division Director – Ada, OK
EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) is seeking to fill its Groundwater, Watershed, and Ecosystems Restoration Division Director position within the National Risk Research Management Laboratory (NRMRL). The ideal candidate has experience leading a research organization and in areas related to groundwater remediation and contaminated sites. The Division’s research provides the scientific basis for tools, strategies, and technologies to protect and restore ground and surface water quality and ecosystem function, as well as technical support for EPA Superfund sites. Major duties for this position include:
Oversees a research program on groundwater and subsurface remediation (e.g., technologies, clean-up strategies, monitoring) for contaminated sites.
Serving as principal scientific advisor to the Director, NRMRL, and to the Assistant Administrator of Research and Development for major program areas assigned to the Division.
Serving as a first, second, or third level supervisor for managers and staff in Division’s Immediate Office and Branches.
Assessing needs, defining goals, developing program plans, establishing organizational structure of the Division, establishing overall laboratory operating policies, priorities, and procedures, developing long- and short-range plans and projects, and allocating dollar and manpower resources.
Coordinating Division activities with representatives of foreign, State and municipal governments and with other Federal agencies, industry, academia and private organizations sharing a mutual interest.
Assuring the timely and effective dissemination of the Division’s research findings to the appropriate user-community and appropriate Agency officials both within and outside ORD.Salary and Benefits: This is a Senior Executive Service (SES) position. The position is a full-time, permanent appointment. The salary range is $166,501-$192,300 per year. Determination of salary is dependent upon qualifications, experience, current salary, and other factors.
