The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, a progressive public utility, is seeking a Household Hazardous Waste Technician I/II. This position will perform a variety of tasks in handling of hazardous materials from both households and conditionally exempt small quantity generators at the District's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility.
Eligible to apply for advancement to the level II position ($6,150 -$7,433 per month) after 18 months.
Education and Experience:
One year of hazardous waste experience or equivalent.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. A valid out of state driver’s license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License within 90 days of appointment.
Forty hours of training in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 29 CFR 1910.120 and annual HAZWOPER refresher training in compliance with regulations.
Special Physical Requirement:
The use of respiratory equipment may be required for this position. Therefore, the Household Hazardous Waste Technician I/II will be required to be free of facial hair that would interfere with the use of a respirator at all times to comply with the District's respiratory program and
