Tectonic is actively seeking a full-time Senior Regional Engineering Manager to join our diverse team of experienced professionals in our Newport Beach, CA regional office, that is looking for the potential for rapid and strategic growth within an experienced ENR Top 500 Company.
The successful candidate will be trained to assume the role of the Executive Director of Engineering in charge of the Newport Beach, CA Office. To assume this longer term leadership requires the candidate to become well-versed in their future role and to gain an in-depth understanding of our corporate management and internal processes, while working directly with our Nationwide Executive Vice President of Engineering. The training program will be over a 1-2 year period. The training will require temporary assignments in the New York Corporate Office, prior to being permanently assigned to Newport Beach, CA and assuming the regional leadership role.

The Senior Regional Engineering Manager shall assume the technical responsibilities and oversight of all engineering and CADD groups of the Newport Beach regional office. Upon successful completion of the training program, the candidate will assume the position of Director of Engineering of the office, including professional responsible PE in charge, management of all staff, P/L, and business development.
Manages the design and construction of various civil and structural telecommunications projects, including the oversight and technical review of Company documents, including engineering reports, drawings, and other required documentation to ensure compliance with Company procedures, contract requirements, and engineering principles, and to ensure the group is providing a high quality work product;
Provides leadership to civil and structural engineers, drafters/designers, and administrative support to ensure the accurate and timely completion of multiple projects to provide high quality deliverables to our clients;
Performs technical project planning for projects of varying complexity, including establishing timelines, budgets, and milestones, monitoring/tracking project progress, and providing necessary resolutions to deliver desired results;
Performs contract negotiations with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to obtain rates and contract amendments for the benefit of the Company;
Coaches, mentors, develops, evaluates, and assigns staff within the department to consistently work toward developing and maintaining an efficient, high performing group with high quality output;
Establishes and monitors schedules and budgets as they relate to assigned projects, and assists with billing reviews as needed;
Assists with business development efforts, including proposal development, marketing activities, and traveling to trade shows/industry events as needed to assist in development process;
Perform project related site visits as needed;
All other related duties as required.

A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant technical experience, with 1-3 years of managerial experience;
Valid CA Professional Engineering license, with the ability to obtain other state PE licenses as needed; BS Degree in Civil Engineering is required; MSCE preferred;
Must have strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills;
Detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, to coordinate with clients, managers, and staff;
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with AutoCAD 2016 or newer, Microsoft Office Suite, and related engineering software programs, time reporting systems, and other related computer applications;
Requires a valid, acceptable driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel to meetings and sites as needed.
