Responsibilities include: Performs a variety of tasks related to the collection and treating of water, wastewater and bio-solids to meet state and federal discharge regulations under minimal supervision. This is a single-position. The position has responsibility for the overall operations and maintenance of the Sullivan’s Island wastewater collection system functions. The Sullivan’s Island Wastewater Collection system has 17 miles of VCP and 6 pump stations. The Treatment Facility is a .570 MGD activated sludge oxidation ditch plant On call 24/7 for after hour emergencies and works rotating weekend schedule. Requires a valid SC driver’s license; high school diploma; valid SC “B” Biological Wastewater Treatment license. A SC “B” Wastewater Collection System Certification preferred, and four (4) years progressive experience in the lead role of operation and maintenance of a wastewater collection system or treatment plant of similar size. SC “D” Water Treatment and SC “C” Water Distribution license is a plus.
