The Assistant Business Unit Manager - Planning and Scheduling (Mechanical Maintenance) will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance and repair activities for the Metropolitan Council's Environmental Services Division (MCES) wastewater treatment plants. Will assist with day-to-day supervision of maintenance activities, staff, and contractors; and will assist in development and capital planning.
Hiring Salary Range: $78,125 -$88,670 Full Salary Range: $78,125- $110,802

MCES is an operating division of the Metropolitan Council. MCES operates and maintains the wastewater collection and treatment system for the Minneapolis-St. Paul seven-county metropolitan area, which includes approximately 600 miles of regional sanitary sewers and eight regional wastewater treatment plants. MCES treats an average of 250 million gallons of wastewater daily, providing cost-effective service to more than 2.6 million people in 109 customer communities. MCES treatment plants consistently earn state and national awards for complete compliance with their environmental permits. MCES also is nationally renowned for its superior work monitoring air and water quality and planning for a long-range water supply to meet future demand.
Four (4) year degree in mechanical technology or closely related field AND five (5) years of experience that must include the following:
Performing industrial equipment repair (servicing, maintaining, and installing pumps, compressors, generators, turbines, mechanical drives, hydraulic systems, etc. and machining, fabrication, and welding); and
Two (2) years planning, scheduling, and/or work estimation experience; and
Two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role; and
Valid driver's license.

Experience in developing detailed scopes of work for competitive bid of maintenance repairs
