Central San, a progressive public utility district, is seeking an Accountant. This position will perform complex and difficult professional accounting duties requiring knowledge of governmental accounting systems, practices, and principles. Incumbent duties will include the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, budgeting, managing investments, forecasting cash flows, maintaining capital project accounting, performing financial analyses, maintaining grant records, reconciling accounts, and preparing special reports and analyses.
Education and Experience:
Two years of experience in a professional accounting capacity in the preparation and maintenance of accounting documents and records.
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in accounting or a related field.
Substitution for Education
Four years of additional qualifying advanced accounting experience as noted above may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License. A valid out-of-state driver's license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment.
C.P.A. or C.M.A. is desirable, but not required.
