Under the direction and supervision of the licensed Engineering Manager, the Engineer I performs engineering work in connection with a variety of public works programs and projects and in the review of private and public developments. The Engineer I is a key member in a team of professionals in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department, which consists of capital, right-of-way management, development engineering and water resources groups. Work may be performed by the Engineer I or by a consultant or City staff under the Engineer I's direction and review.
