The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at The Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking applications for multiple tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels.
Exciting challenges await the next generation of research engineers and scientists in the vertical lift sector. Topics of interest for this position include, but are not limited to vertical lift research in: experimental and computational aeromechanics, design, aeroelasticity, multi-body dynamics, structural dynamics, autonomy, and flight mechanics and controls. The candidate’s potential for career impact, growth, and creativity will be considered in addition to their specific area of expertise within vertical lift technology and engineering. We seek outstanding individuals who will conduct impactful research, teach graduate and undergraduate students, and find innovative solutions to modern vertical lift problems. A demonstrated ability to conduct research and a strong commitment to education are required. Multidisciplinary collaboration with Georgia Tech’s Vertical Lift Research Center of Excellence, as well as other related research groups and colleges at Georgia Tech, will be highly encouraged.
The Aerospace Engineering program at Georgia Tech is the largest program of its kind in the US, having approximately 40 full-time faculty members, 800+ undergraduate students and 500+ graduate students. Its undergraduate and graduate programs are typically ranked among the top aerospace engineering programs in the nation. The research interests of the faculty cover a broad spectrum, including gas dynamics, propulsion, combustion, aerodynamics, structural mechanics, flight mechanics, orbital mechanics, rotorcraft, aircraft and space systems design, dynamics and control, air-traffic control, and cognitive engineering.
