The City is seeking a Director for the Environmental Services Department which is charged with maintaining the City’s potable and recycled water systems, the sanitary and storm sewer systems, the treatment of wastewater, the collection of garbage from City residents and businesses, and the diversion of recyclables, ensuring that the City complies with all applicable regulatory requirements, and helping to advance the City’s sustainable goals. The ideal candidate will share the City’s vision of entrepreneurial leadership and innovative solutions to problems. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, sanitary or environmental engineering, or a related field; and seven (7) years of progressively responsible engineering experience, with at least four (4) years in a senior level management position. A Master’s degree in engineering or a related field is desirable. This position also requires possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers.
