The Public Works Department Division of Torrance Municipal Water (TMW) is a full service water agency with approximately 26,500 service connections that provides both retail and wholesale water service to approximately 80% of the City. The division is currently recruiting for a Water Operations Supervisor and a Water System Operator III to join their team!
The Water Operations Supervisor ($6,312.80 - $8,460.40 Monthly) plans, schedules, and supervises subordinate personnel in the construction, maintenance, and repair of City water systems including water production distribution, storage, pumping, treatment, and meter facilities. The Water Operations Supervisor inspects field work in progress for compliance with policies, procedures, safety guidelines, schedules, and work specifications; assists in the preparation of the division budget; and acts in the absence of Water Operations Superintendent as the Chief Operator for the City.
Water System Operator III ($5,175.73 - $5,993.87 Monthly) performs the most complex skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of the City's water system; performs water quality control and meter repair. The most frequent jobs include preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and emergency repairs to water mains, hydrants, and replacing valves.
