LABORATORY TECHNICIAN I/II SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT SALARY: Lab Tech I - $4905 - $6261/mo Lab Tech II - $5765 - $7358/mo In addition to the salary, The South Tahoe Public Utility District offers an excellent benefits package that includes: Fully paid health, dental and vision insurance premiums for employee and eligible dependents. CalPERS Retirement: 2.7% @55 for Classic Members and 2% @62 for PEPRA members. The South Tahoe Public Utility District is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Laboratory Technician I/II. Under the direction of the Laboratory Director, performs a variety of chemical, physical, and biological analyses on water, wastewater and soil, as required for State Water Quality compliance, Public Health, and Plant operation; uses a variety of automated instrumentation; makes appropriate calculations and enters data onto Lab forms; prepares standard solutions; performs field sampling for the potable water system and in Alpine County.

Educational Requirements: Laboratory Technician I/II: Requires graduation from college with at least a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or other physical or biological science. Experience Requirements: Laboratory Technician I: One year experience in an analytical or microbiological laboratory is required. A minimum of two college laboratory courses in chemistry, microbiology, or other related sciences can be used for this requirement. Laboratory Technician II: Four (4) years experience performing chemical or biological analysis on water or wastewater in either a public or commercial environmental laboratory. Proficiency Requirements: Laboratory Technician I: Must possess either an AWWA or CWEA Grade I Laboratory Technologist certificate or obtain this certificate within eighteen (18) months after hire date. Laboratory Technician II: Must possess either an AWWA or CWEA Grade II Laboratory Technologist in order to become a Laboratory Technologist II. To Apply: Visit www.stpud.us.
