Job Description
UTILITIES SUPERINTENDENT

Town of Chesterton, Indiana, (pop. 11,000, 8.9 sq. miles) charming, historic community 45 minutes from Chicago and close to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore seeks progressive wastewater utilities administrator to lead a professional department providing wastewater treatment services (4.6 MGD) to a population of 20,000 within the designated service area. Department has 23 employees with a budget of $4.5 million. Appointed by Utility Service Board. Salary is $65,000 +/- DOQ, with excellent benefits. Vehicle provided. Requirements
Ability to become a Class 4 Operator within a reasonable length of time after appointment is highly desirable. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with at least 2 years in a managerial position required. Strong organizational leadership, financial management, long-range planning, motivational and administrative skills required. Open, accessible, participatory management style is essential.
