The primary duties of the Water Business Group Manager include planning and managing all aspects of municipal water and wastewater systems planning, design and construction projects. Specific types of projects may include water/wastewater treatment facility design, storm water and transportation facility drainage, floodplain and flood control engineering, preparation of drainage reports, storm drain plan and profile drawings, specifications for drainage facilities, floodplain permitting and FEMA consultation, and renewable energy projects, primarily hydroelectric facilities. This position is responsible for the operations of the Water BG Manager including staff development, morale, quality control, BG strategic planning, and marketing oversight. The Business Group Manager will collaborate with other business group and marketing staff in the pursuit of new projects and will take a leadership role in selected key pursuits. This position serves as client manager for key clients providing leadership in addressing client issues and coordination of multiple projects in differing market sectors. Additional duties include serving as client manager and working with other PMs on establishing and maintaining client relations. Is responsible for coordinating workload to ensure that projects have sufficient resources to complete documents on schedule and within budget. Is responsible to track the financial aspects of projects in the BG, and coordinates and adjusts the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed on budget. This individual will also be administratively responsible for the business class staff and technical service staff and will lead or coordinate services with other business classes and business groups as necessary. Works with Project Managers and the Quality Coordinator for project reviews and with company management on an as needed basis. The preferred candidate will possess experience in the management and mentorship of staff. He or she will also have experience in managing multiple projects from beginning to end including client relations, schedule and financial management, and quality control.

Requirements |

BS Civil Engineering. MS Preferred. PE required. 10+ years managing water/wastewater projects, budgets, and project teams. Experience and contacts in Alaska is highly preferred. Experience with staff management and development of multidisciplinary teams a must.
