The City of Rifle is seeking a Wastewater Supervisor.
The City is just completing construction of its new 2 MGD activated sludge wastewater reclamation facility. The work of this position involves the administration of the wastewater treatment plant operations and sanitary sewer collection system including treatment, pre-treatment, maintenance, biosolids management, lab work and all safety related work. Through subordinate supervision, the incumbent ensures that the plant(s) are meeting C.D.P.H.E. and E.P.A. regulations and guidelines. The work requires an individual with attention to detail for the work of the plant is under close watch of State and Federal regulators. Minimum Education: Extensive responsible, professional and administrative experience relating to operations of advanced wastewater treatment technology for water reclamation, completion of a standard high school diploma and possession of a BS degree in job-related engineering or scientific discipline is preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Job Requirements: Colorado Wastewater Operator’s Class “B” License or higher. Valid Colorado Driver’s License. Valid Colorado Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed. Must maintain all licenses. Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: Five years related experience in wastewater plant operations and system components and five years supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Extensive knowledge of SCADA and PLC Panels. Starting Salary $59, 464 - $63,343 DOQ.
