Job Description
CITY OF LAKE WORTH, FLORIDA (Population: 35,569)

CUSTOMER SERVICES MANAGER (An attractive beginning salary is anticipated and is negotiable depending on qualifications.)

Lake Worth is located in Palm Beach County and boarders both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway. Although primarily a residential community, the City’s economy is bolstered by tourism, retail and construction. Lake Worth owns a quarter-mile of beach-front with an ocean fishing pier and beach complex consisting of an Olympic-size heated pool, restaurants and shops.

Lake Worth is a Commission/Manager government which provides a full array of municipal services including electric, water, sewer, stormwater and waste removal. The Commission appoints a City Manager who oversees all municipal operations including finance and utilities. The Customer Service Manager reports to the Finance Director and is responsible to manage utilities billings, meter reading, utilities accounting and a customer service counter. The Division has about 25 employees and handles 26,000 accounts.

Requirements
The City is seeking a trained and highly experienced utilities customer services manager with outstanding consumer relations skills. Requires a four-year college degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration. Strongly prefer experience that includes electric and automated billings systems. The ideal candidate will also have extensive knowledge and proven skills in the areas of governmental business practices, organizational and employee performance analysis, measurement and change. The Division frequently receives complaints of poor customer service and needs a transformational manager willing to review the Division and make needed changes to its organizational culture and structure, its processes and, potentially, its staffing.
