Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for coordination of the City's compliance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program, which governs stormwater permits, discharges, and related environmental regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include: maintaining accurate, clear, and concise records for the NPDES database and coordinating activities that are being performed by other departments/divisions; conducting investigations of stormwater ordinances, NPDES permit violations, illicit discharges, illegal dumping, and related violations and/or enforcement procedures; developing and implementing enforcement activities specified in the City's NPDES permit; preparing and reviiewing City Ordinances and engineering standards relating to stormwater management; developing and/or implementing specifications and Best Management Practices (BMP) for stormwater pollution prevention from non-point sources; coordinating grant requests for stormwater related projects through local, state, and federal agencies; performing field inspections of City maintained and Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) permitted stormwater management systems to verify their proper operation and maintenance; certifying operational permits through the SWFWMD; developing, implementing, and conducting stormwater public education programs for the public, schools, and businesses; coordinate operation and maintenance of the City's Stormwater Alum Treatment Facility which includes the calibration of instrumentation and chemical feed adjustments; developing recommendations on stormwater related operating and capital items for inclusion in the annual budget.

Requirements
Requires Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology or related field and one year experience in stormwater management or equivalent combination of training and experience. Salary range: $43,243.20 - $64,750.40.
