Public- and private-sector clients look to HNTB Corporation to address their environmental challenges, from planning and design through construction phasing and operations support. HNTB Water Services Group has an opening for a high energy Business Development Manager/Senior Project Manager specializing in water and/or wastewater programs in its Chicago Location. This office has a strong reputation for project work for federal, state and local clients in all HNTB disciplines.

The primary responsibilities for this position would be to:

  • Develop and implement business strategies aimed to grow Water Services in the Chicago Metro Area; in particular the Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and the City of Chicago Water Management Department.
  • Conduct sales efforts in the water/waster water discipline and/or consulting practice, to build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor and ROI over time.
  • Prepare for qualification statements, proposals and presentations. Act as the project or program manager and main client contact for any work attained, including: Ensuring timely, quality, and cost-effective projects
  • Maintaining effective client communications

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined engineering.
  • Registration in the State of Illinois, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Sixteen plus years experience in water/wastewater
  • High-end consulting experience in more than one engineering area
  • Possess program and project management capabilities and experience effectively balancing direct and indirect utilization rates
  • Experience managing and mentoring staff.
  • Must reside in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area
  • Desired: Masters Degree

The candidate will also have the following skills:

  • High level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels and disciplines.
  • Ability to succeed in a team oriented organization interfacing with a variety of different groups to accomplish project objectives.
